Man in the mirror...

The big event to kick start the 20th anniversary celebration is none other than the Family Day which is scheduled to be held in early June this year. The planning of it tells a colourful story in itself. As this piece is written, we had just managed to secure a place somewhere in Balok beach, between Cherating and Kuantan.

This is the first time we organise such a big event for our group. It's quite a daunting task, sometimes. Working on a tight budget and on voluntary basis, one must have the passions as well as patients. One humongous task is to get a reasonable support from members themselves.

Many of us prefer to just wait and see. Sometimes it baffles me to think that among us friends, we still choose to just wait and see. What is it that we are waiting for? What is it that we want to see before we act? Tokke nok buat famili day pong kena wait and see jugok? We've been talking about this event since last year, and still most of us just choose to be quite. To me, if you want to join, say so. If you decided not to join, then say so, too. It's not like people are going to call you names (example: a social-moron) if you don't come. Do justice to those of us organising this event - say you're coming/not coming. Period.

So, it's one thing about getting the response. The planning part is also without its asam garam jugok. Mujur loni ramai sikit hok nok volunteers to take on some tasks to see this event through. Hopefully ramai lagi hok volunteer to sacrifice some of their personal time to help around. Along the way tu, ado jugok hok 'makan hati', but I think it's quite normal especially when dealing with people. The more we got involved, the more we realised it's challenges, and these challenges build your character (or maybe reflect the true you). Whatever be the case, I feel we should swallow our personal pride for the better of the group.

Looking at this initial stage, it is really a test on our strength (as a team). If we dream to become like those established lot (the MCOBAs dan sewaktu dengannya), we have a long way to go. We need a change in our values and perspectives in whatever we do. Maybe we need to start with them students lagi.

Batu tak akan berlubang jika disimbah air, tetapi akan terbelah jika selalu dititis air.

So, let's start with the man in the mirror. Let's asks him to change his ways. Coz, no message could have been any clearer, if you want to make this world a better place, take a look at yourself and then, make that CHANGE!
